Specifications include, but are not limited to: Nevada County is inviting proposals from qualified firms to produce a county-specific Land Management Plan in support of the County-wide Community Wildfire Protection Plan update. Nevada County seeks a qualified firm (Proposer) with the experience, expertise, and qualifications to identify existing vegetation management techniques and vegetation treatment types employed in Nevada County, identify existing land management projects and programs, and subsequently establish the minimum standards and best-management practices that are appropriate for sustainable wildfire mitigation actions in Nevada County. The Community Wildfire Protection Plan Update will identify “where” priority actions should be taken, and the purpose of the Land Management Plan is to identify the “how.” In sum, these plans will provide a roadmap for increasing the pace and scale of wildfire mitigation at the individual, community, and landscape scales. The selected firm will work with Nevada County Office of Emergency Services (OES) and key local land managers and NGO stakeholders to identify and vet best management practices specific to the unique ecosystems and vegetation assemblages of Nevada County. The selected firm will work with OES to coordinate a Land Management Plan Technical Advisory Committee to solicit feedback on land management in the County, will develop this feedback and review of relevant literature into a draft Land Management Plan, and will solicit feedback and produce a final Land Management Plan (document). A copy of the full RFP is available below and includes a description of the scope of work, proposal requirements, and instructions for submitting your proposal.
