Nevada County is inviting proposals from qualified firms to provide and create GIS Applications in support of the County-wide Community Wildfire Protection Plan update. Nevada County seeks a qualified firm (Proposer) with the experience, expertise, and qualifications to design and create GIS Applications within the County GIS system. The purpose of the GIS Applications is to monitor the success of the CWPP, create a centralized self-sustaining GIS project tracker, and serve as an interactive “playground” for wildfire risk reduction project design and map making. The selected firm will work with Nevada County Office of Emergency Services (OES) and Nevada County GIS to create the GIS Applications. The selected firm will prepare an “ecosystem” of interactive GIS Applications that will allow Nevada County to monitor the CWPP, create a system for the submission of wildfire mitigation project data with internal review capabilities, host the viewable results of the CWPP, and create an interactive playground for public users. The selected firm will work to identify, coordinate, and acquire necessary wildfire mitigation project feature service data from existing project trackers such as CalMapper and the California Wildfire Landscape Resilience Interagency Treatment Dashboard as well as integrate data and resources from the Nevada County CWPP and CWPP Project Team, Nevada County Local Hazard Mitigation Plan Update, Nevada County Evacuation Study, Truckee Fire Protection District CWPP, CAL FIRE NEU Unit Plan, the Yuba Forest Network etc. The selected firm shall additionally create a data taxonomy and structure that will be incorporated into the GIS Applications.
