Specifications include, but are not limited to:The San Diego Unified Port District, in cooperation with the City of Chula Vista, is soliciting a request for qualifications (RFQ) for an urban park planning, design and engineering team to provide architectural and engineering consulting services for the development of two new waterfront parks on San Diego Bay in Chula Vista, California. The parks are part of an award-winning, comprehensive, 535-acre Chula Vista Bayfront Master Plan. The overall objective of the Master Plan is to create a very special contiguous waterfront and to extend the City of Chula Vista to the San Diego Bay. This is to ensure the public right of access to the shoreline while at the same time protecting the sensitive natural habitat which is part of the adjacent National Wildlife Refuge. Sweetwater and Harbor Parks and adjacent buffer areas, totaling 85 acres, are the key feature through which the great assets of the Bayfront will be experienced. The project team may include a landscape architect, civil engineer, public outreach consultant, architect, biologist or natural scientist, geotechnical engineer, coastal engineer, surveyor, cost estimator, arborist or horticulturist, public art consultant, signage/graphic designer, lighting designer, structural engineer, mechanical engineer, electrical engineer, events programming, and park operations and maintenance consultant. The District is seeking a qualified design team with experience in the planning and design of public parks. Experience with coastal sites and a strong working relationship among the team is desirable
