A. General 1. Contractor shall provide window washing of exterior windows, frames, metal lattice, and sills. 2. All glass panels (exterior) over and under windows are also to be cleaned and free of all dirt and water streaks. Hard water spots do not have to be removed, with the exception of the ground floor windows. 3. After window glass is washed, interior exposed surface of window frames and sills will be wiped with damp chamois or sponge in order to prevent a buildup or accumulation of dirt and to remove all traces of moisture. 4. All dirt, grease and film shall be cleaned from quirks and angles of interior frames and window hardware. Cleaning shall also include removal of loose dirt and debris found when window is in an open position. 5. Protective covering shall be used for all sills, furniture, equipment, walls and interior finishes and surfaces, especially when working on deep interior ledges. 6. All chemicals or products used in this work must meet requirements for Environmentally Preferable Cleaning Products detailed in Exhibit F, Sustainable Purchasing. 7. Contractor shall use special cleaning products to ensure thorough cleaning of the affected surfaces while avoiding chemical buildup, abrasion, damage or staining. 8. During window cleaning operation, the Contractor shall look for and report to FMD Contract Administrator or Designated Building Representative any building deficiencies or areas in need of repair. This includes loose caulking or any other obvious structural building problems, such as cracking. Reporting shall be in accordance with Section 7 of this agreement. 9. FMD Contractor Administrator or Designated Building Representative will inspect window cleaning after the first day to approve quality and procedure of work being performed. At that time a standard will be set and followed through the duration of the project.
