A. All investigators shall use the relevant CHP and Standard forms required by CHP and the Commission on Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST). Where applicable, all original documents submitted by the applicant or obtained by the investigator shall be inspected for authenticity and a copy be retained by the investigator and included with each background investigation. The required documents will be made available to each investigator by CHP. B. While conducting each background investigation, each investigator shall ensure each applicant’s privacy is protected and all personal identifiable information is securely stored and not readily accessible to others who are not authorized to view it. C. Must have the ability to attempt all required pre-employment background investigation checks in countries beyond the United States and translate outgoing and incoming correspondence to the appropriate language. In the event any investigation fails to comply with either POST or CHP, the report shall be returned to the primary investigator, and the missing elements shall be addressed and corrected prior to acceptance by the CHP. Any investigation that needs to be corrected shall be completed and resubmitted within ten (10) business days. F. In cases where only a partial, or reinstatement background investigation is required, the investigator will only be responsible for the time frame from the end of the previous background to the current date. However, the investigator will be required to ensure all time sensitive documentation is valid.
