Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Tucson has built a childcare facility at the Quincie Douglas Neighborhood Center located at 1575 E. 36th Street, Tucson, Arizona. The facility is currently designed to serve sixty-seven (67) children, ages 12 months to 5 non-school age. The center is designed with four rooms at 25 square feet per child: Room #110 is 350 sq. ft (14 children); Room #111 is 458-sq. ft. (18 children); Room #112 is 458-sq. ft. (18 children); and Room #113 is 436-sq. ft. (17 children). The project goal is to provide the community with quality, low cost childcare five days per week, twelve months per year. It is important that the childcare facility meet the needs of the entire community. Therefore, the Center must operate five days per week and serve children ages 12 months to 5 non-school age. The center will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The child care center will be closed on the following legal holidays: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. Parents will be charged in accordance with the rates set forth on the Price Page herein and the childcare provider will hold a financial agreement with DES to serve low- income families. The child care provider will be required to work under the direction of the Quincie Douglas Center Supervisor to meet the child care needs of the community. It is important that the provider work in cooperation with the City of Tucson and the Quincie Douglas neighborhood to form a partnership to meet the childcare needs of the community. Provider will be required to encourage involvement of the community in the childcare center. The City will provide the building and some of the furnishings. Architectural drawings of the center are available and do meet DHS Child Care Licensure standards. To obtain a copy of the drawings, please contact Ron Odell at (520) 791-5909. The drawings may be used in the application for DHS licensure. The contractor will meet all the licensing requirements as outlined in the latest edition of the Arizona Department of Health Services Office of Child Care Licensure Chapter 5 Child Care Facilities Rules. The license will be under the contractor's business name. The center will be named the Quincie Douglas Child Care Facility. The Contractor will be responsible for the replacement and/or repair of all items that they provide. Likewise the City will be responsible for the replacement and/or repair of items that it provides. If the Contractor replaces any of the items identified herein or otherwise labeled as City owned and supplied property, then such contractor replacements become the property of the City. The City will provide the following items: o The childcare center o Playground equipment o Office furniture o Shared use of kitchen with appliances (refrigerator, stove, dishwasher) o Separate laundry room with washer and dryer o Tables/chairs for children o Limited use of the Center's copier and facsimile machine.
