In general, the work is comprised of public works construction including removing and disposing of the existing play equipment and sand, salvaging existing benches and trash can for reuse, as well as removing concrete around the play area. New improvements will include the installation of new, ADA-compliant play equipment, construction of a rock sump, rubber safety surfacing, benches, the installation of new concrete panels and integral-colored concrete banding around the perimeter of the play area, reinstallation of existing benches and a trash can, replacing existing concrete around the perimeter of the play pit, repair turf areas damaged during construction activities, including soil preparation, reseeding, and sod installation, while ensuring proper irrigation coverage, and other miscellaneous improvements as shown on the Plans, described in the Specifications, and as required to complete the work.
