The RCD will enter into a contract with the selected contractor to provide the following activities: The actions taken at each location are the same, and will focus on the area 200’ from centerline of paved and access roads unless specified 1. Remove hazard trees 2. Remove and haul dead and down biomass to biomass facility 3. Thin specified tree species up to 20 inches diameter and remove ladder fuels 4. Pile or lop and scatter biomass when directed 5. Chip limbs, branches and small diameter material Other Responsibilities of the Contractor Include: 1. Work with RCD and NPS staff to ensure compliance with the guidelines, conditions, and criteria of the grant. See Exhibit B: NATIONAL PARK PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS 2. Coordinate efforts with RCD and NPS to report invoice and financial data, recommend opportunities for greater project effectiveness, and provide project updates. 3. Ensure compliance with all Federal, state, and local laws; including the California Forest Practices Act. 4. Provide quality customer service and ongoing public outreach and education. 5. Comply with all RCD administrative procedures, such as providing before and after photos, monthly invoices, volume and tonnage of biomass removed, road miles and acreage treated, documentation, receipts, and scale tickets for all merchantable wood and biomass disposed of. 6. Ensure protection of infrastructure. 7. Communicate with RCD and NPS staff about daily work schedules and project timelines. 8. Ensure that no equipment, materials, or trash are left by the contract crew on the project area or any access way used to get to and from the project area upon leaving the project area. 9. Provide GIS shapefiles of treatment areas when work is complete. 10.Ensure all work is performed in compliance with all applicable guidelines and regulations including, but not limited to, all requirements of CAL FIRE. 11.Minimize environmental impacts by taking steps to preserve sensitive habitats, prevent unnecessary encounters with wildlife, protect against wildfire and erosion and limit carbon emissions. 12.Plan and execute appropriate disposal of wood waste as allowable under the terms of the grant and authorized by the RCD.
