All correspondence must be made through the Vendor Portal. Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Project objective is to repair existing erosion damage to the levee due to ongoing animal intrusion and burrowing activities, and to minimize and prevent the potential for future damage due to animal activities along the levee face which can potentially undermine the levee’s structural integrity. The Project scope includes two (2) repair sites with a combined length of approximately 1,600 feet that will connect to each of the previously repaired 929 feet segment of the outboard side of the levee. 1. Compliance with NPDES General Permit, and Stream Maintenance Program 2 (SMP2) Permits, including Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan preparation, installation of Best Management Practices; 2. Clearing and grubbing within the project limits, including the removal of vegetation, and other miscellaneous items; 3. Levee excavation, including testing and disposal of unsuitable materials; 4. Levee reconstruction including replacement of unsuitable materials with import materials, as required, to re-establish the levee as-built geometry; 5. Installation and anchoring of chain link fabric along the finished surface of the levee slopes; 6. Placement of topsoil over chain link fabric mesh; 7. Traffic control; 8. Establishment of construction staging area(s); 9. Three (3)-year chain link fabric mesh, topsoil and turf maintenance of hydroseed establishment period; 10. Winterization of the proposed levee construction reach for early termination of work; 11. Installation of erosion control mat and hydroseeding after completion of levee reconstruction and placement of chain link fabric mesh; 12. Coordination of Trail closure activities with the City of San Jose and other adjacent property owners; 13. Repair any facilities including but not limited to trail access surface to its original condition due to any contractor operations; and 14. Other miscellaneous construction activities and items necessary to satisfactorily complete the Work.
