Specifications include, but are not limited to: To provide appropriate maintenance for the CAL FIRE Training Center breathing air compressors; Contractor shall provide all materials, labor, equipment, tools, permits, taxes, and fees for on-site maintenance, testing, and repair of breathing air compressors and a cylinder filling station. The services shall be provided during regular business hours 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding recognized State holidays. Actual work schedule and service frequency shall be coordinated by the CAL FIRE Project Representative. Some emergency repair work may be required; as a result, some repairs may be required outside of normal business hours. 1. Equipment: A. Two (2) Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) Scott Hush Air Breathing Compressor B. Two (2) SBCA Bauer Compressors (Unicus 4) C. This equipment may vary as needs and conditions warrant, and no usage level is guaranteed 2. Testing, Maintenance, and Repairs A. Testing shall consist of interval monitoring of equipment. Equipment performance shall meet Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) “Breathing Air” standards. B. Copies of all test reports and work orders shall be provided to the CFTC Project Representative at the CAL FIRE Training Center. C. Cylinder filling station maintenance shall consist of preventative measures performed at interval time periods and equipment inspections. Service intervals shall be at 50-hour intervals or quarterly, whichever comes first. D. The Contractor shall provide a service technician who is skilled in working on both SCBA Scott Hush Air Breathing Compressor and SCBA Bauer Compressor. E. In addition to scheduled maintenance, the Contractor shall provide repairs on an as-needed basis. Contractor shall provide 24/7 on-call support for repair services of faulty or improperly performing equipment. F. The Contractor shall furnish technicians who are certified to perform warranty work on systems at the CFTC in Ione, CA. Contractor must have the ability to provide a qualified technician 24/7 for as-needed repairs at CFTC’s request. G. The Contractor shall inform the CFTC Project Representative when the quarterly service is due. The CFTC project representative will coordinate with the Contractor to schedule an appropriate time for a service technician to provide service. H. All need for repairs discovered by the servicing technician during a quarterly service shall be communicated to CFTC Project Representative. Contractor shall obtain approval from the CFTC Project Representative for all repairs prior to commencing the repairs. I. The Contractor shall ensure that a repair technician begins repairs within two (2) working days from notifying the CFTC Project Representative of needed repairs. J. If work shall be required at the Contractor’s site, contractor shall identify, in writing, items to be removed from the site and obtain written authorization from CFTC staff prior to removal from the facility. K. Recommendation for upgrading or improving equipment and/or system operations shall include a written estimated cost of the improvement and a written justification to the CAL FIRE Training Center in Ione, CA. L. All repairs to the air pathway component of a compressor shall require an air sample. M. Parts, lubricants, oils, and any other components that may need to be replaced shall not exceed 15% of the total contract amount.
