Contractor to provide all materials, equipment, and personnel to shampoo the carpets bi-annually located at the CAL FIRE Southern Operations Facility, buildings and approximately square footage of carpet area to be shampooed are as follows: 1) Operations Command Center Building – 10,000 square feet (Attachment 2) 2) Training Building – 5,500 square feet (Attachment 3) 3) Administrative Building – 25,000 square feet (Attachment 4) B. Cleaning Requirements Contractor shall complete cleaning methods as follows: 1) Contractor shall vacuum all carpet areas prior to pretreatment or shampooing 2) Contractor shall apply pretreatment to all stains on carpet prior to shampooing. 3) Contractor shall use a commercial/professional steam cleaner capable of applying water at a minimum temperature of 160 degrees, and a maximum of 200 degrees. 4) Contractor shall provide CALFIRE Project Representative with a list of all cleaning materials/chemicals for review and approval; submittals must include Material Safety Data Sheets (SDS). 5) Contractor shall provide fans to properly ventilate and accelerate the drying of areas being cleaned. 6) Contractor shall clean and dry any excess cleaning material from cove base. 7) Contractor shall remove used cleaning water. 8) Contractor shall notify CAL FIRE Project Representative of any damages. 9) CAL FIRE will provide potable water, if required. C. Scheduling 1) Administration and Training Buildings to be shampooed over the first non-holiday weekends in January and July. 2) Operations Command Center Building shall be shampooed overnight on the last Saturday of March and September; CAL FIRE retains the discretion to change these dates based on fire activity. Personnel will need access to the work area for the Operations Command Center the following morning, by 6:00 a.m. 3) Contractor shall contact CAL FIRE Project Representative two (2) weeks prior to cleanings to confirm scheduling. 4) CAL FIRE will provide one personnel to be available to the Contractor for the duration of onsite work.
