The County of San Mateo, nestled in between San Francisco and the Silicon Valley, serves a diverse population with a wide array of health needs. Aging and Disability Services (ADS), a division under the San Mateo County Health System, serves the local aging and disabled community, including those who lack capacity to provide for their own needs as a result of a mental health disorder. Individuals such as this who are conserved by the state, fall under the care of ADS, and arrangements are made to place these individuals in mental health treatment programs. Occasionally, these individuals move outside of San Mateo County due to housing and income limitations, but continue to be under the care of ADS. ADS seeks to establish a contract(s) for the provision of gurney and Basic Life Support (BLS) transportation services for such individuals on psychiatric holds or life support located in counties outside the San Francisco Bay Area. Due to increasing demand and limited availability of qualified transport providers, there is a critical need for reliable, timely, and medically appropriate transport of these patients to designated mental health facilities, services within San Mateo County, and/or for court appearances. Counties outside of the San Francisco Bay Area which ADS is seeking vendors to provide transportation to/from include: Marin County, Humboldt County, Stanislaus County, San Joaquin County, Solano County, Fresno County, Sacramento County, Santa Barbara County, Kern County. Please note that it is not a requirement for vendors to have licenses to operate in all of the above counties.
