A. Material Delivery: The Contractor shall provide and deliver the materials noted below and complying with the material specifications defined in Attachment D. The Contractor shall deliver materials to the location within NCTD’s right-of-way specified by NCTD’s Project Manager (all delivery locations will be accessible by road with highway-rated vehicles). 1. Sand and Gravel 3/4" 2. Ballast AREMA 4a 3. Ballast AREMA 5 4. CALTRANS C.A.B. Class 2 Base 5. Recycled Class 2 Base 6. CALTRANS Rock Crushed 3/4" 7. Rock 3/8” 8. Riprap CALTRANS Class I 9. Riprap CALTRANS Class III 10. Riprap CALTRANS Class V 11. Riprap CALTRANS Class VII 12. 1/2” CALTRANS Type A Hot Mix Asphalt 13. Cold Patch Asphalt B. During the term of the Agreement, the Contractor agrees to provide NCTD with the requested services upon receiving notice from NCTD designated equipment and materials representative. C. Samples: Representative samples of ballast, of not less than 150 pounds for gradation and other required tests shall be taken from each source of ballast and tested as specified herein. Samples will be delivered to NCTD within 20 days of award. Each shipment of ballast shall be accompanied by a certification as specified. Certified results of the tests required to demonstrate conformance with this specification shall be provided prior to any material being shipped. D. When ballast is of such a nature that it does not become clean with preliminary washing, washing shall be provided at the quarry or the crusher plant. E. Prepared ballast and aggregate base must be handled in such a manner that it is kept clean and free from segregation, and when delivered must be clean and free from rubbish or any substance which might foul the material. Supplier will manage blending, stockpiling and other production and handling operations to minimize segregation of finished product. Stockpiling operations must minimize the breakage or excessive fall in stockpiling operations, and movement of wheeled or tracked machines over stockpiled materials shall be limited.
