Coordinating Organizations are responsible for the creation and the implementation of programs in a variety of artistic disciplines including but not limited to cultural practices, design, literary, media, multidisciplinary, performing, traditional, and visual arts. These programs are carried out by Coordinating Organization’s Arts Providers inside CDCR facilities for people experiencing incarceration. Coordinating Organizations and Arts Providers are responsible for working collaboratively with CAC and CDCR staff at the institutions to identify potential participants, implementing programming and administering programming in appropriate space(s) for their AIC programs. Selected Coordinating Organizations will deliver arts programming that fosters creativity, collaboration, and rehabilitation through in-person and tablet-based arts instruction, while maintaining compliance with CDCR security and scheduling protocols.
