Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Sacramento, Department of Public Works, Recycling and Solid Waste division, is soliciting bids to receive and process appliance waste collected through its E-Waste and Appliance Pickup and Illegal Dumping Collection Programs. The Recycling and Solid Waste division provides residential customers with two (2) appointments each calendar year for the free pick up of e-waste and/or appliances. These items are picked up and then stored at either the North Area Corporate Yard (Del Paso Road) or the Meadowview City Service Center (Meadowview). City crews do not drain, modify, or otherwise prepare material for processing (including the removal of batteries). Contractor must accept material “as is scrap only”. Currently, the City includes large appliances and small household appliances in its program. With each appointment, a resident may place up to two (2) large appliances (i.e., washer, refrigerator) and two (2) small household appliances (i.e., toasters and air fryers) on the curb for pick-up. The City allots up to 65 appointments per service day distributed in the following manner: the North and South areas are allowed up to 30 appointments each, and the downtown area is allowed 5 appointments per day. This bid is exclusively for the pickup, processing, and disposal of appliances. There is a separate bid for the pickup, processing, and disposal of e-Waste. Vendors may bid on both if they have the capacity to manage both types of waste.
