Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials, equipment, and incidentals required to install new filter media for 16 filters. The Contractor shall remove the existing media from all 16 filters and replace with new media. New media will include the installation of sand and GAC. Placement of the new GAC shall be accomplished hydraulically via slurry transport through an eductor, slurry pump, blow case or from a specially built bulk truck. Contractor is responsible for hauling and disposal of removed media Contractor is to abide by AWWA B100-16 for filter media removal, filter box preparation, testing and sand installation. The contractor is to abide by AWWA B604-18 for GAC testing and installation. The City will designate a Technical Representative to coordinate the replacement of filter media. The Contractor and the Technical Representative will schedule replacement of filter media appropriately as all filters cannot be taken out of service at the same time. The contractor will work will OWTP staff for filter preparation, backwashing and to ensure replacement does not interfere with the operations of the facility. Filters are to be released up to 4 at a time pending operational needs.
