The City of Vista is soliciting written proposals for a qualified consulting company to enter into a lease with an operator for the AVO Playhouse located at 303 Main Street, Vista, California 92084. The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to select a Consultant that will manage and operate the AVO Playhouse as a modern, attractive, multi-use event theater which draws visitors downtown, increases the number of rentals, and provides a venue for local talent. The selected Consultant must demonstrate competence and possess the necessary qualifications to manage the renovation and rehabilitation, operations, and maintenance of the AVO Playhouse at a fair and reasonable cost. The City’s vision is that the AVO’s entertainment would feature events such as smaller bands, comedy nights, and movies, which would not compete with the larger bands at the City’s Moonlight Amphitheatre. The AVO would still be available for other community functions, such as youth theatre, graduations, and free community events. The City will consider proposals from qualified Consultants that demonstrate experience performing the items addressed in the Scope of Work.
