Specifications include, but are not limited to: The County seeks to award a contract(s), for the North and South regions , to provide as-needed vehicle abatement services. These services will involve the disposal or storage of operable, inoperable, abandoned, or wrecked vehicles in the unincorporated areas of the County of San Diego. The selected Contractor(s) shall perform all work necessary to pick up, remove, store, and dispose of vehicles or parts thereof from locations designated on the "County of San Diego Order of Vehicle Removal" (OVR) form (see Exhibit AAttachment 1) executed by the County's Planning & Development Services (PDS) Department. The County prioritizes equitable access to clean and safe communities, ensuring that vehicle abatement services are performed in a manner that minimizes environmental impact and supports sustainability. Contractors are encouraged to employ environmentally responsible practices, such as recycling vehicle components whenever feasible and reducing waste sent to landfills. Additionally, services must be conducted in a manner that aligns with the County’s commitment to fairness and respect for all residents, regardless of their community’s socioeconomic status or geographic location.
