Specifications include, but are not limited to: The City of Westminster invites qualifications from firms that wish to be considered for asneeded professional planning services with emphasis on landscape modifications; assisting businesses in complying with the statewide water conservation emergency regulations. The City is also invites qualifications from firms that may be able to provide landscape architecture plan check and inspections services on an as-needed basis and/or firms that may be able to provide services to residential, commercial, and industrial customers in relation to architectural design services. • Routine duties of local government planning functions. • May provide coverage for the public counter, general planning phone, general planning email, as well as communicate with customers of assigned projects. • Interpret and respond to inquiries from the public regarding planning, zoning, project, or general development questions with an emphasis on landscape modification. • Review application submittals for compliance with the City’s General Plan policies, Zoning Code, applicable specific plans, Subdivision Map Act, the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), and other regulatory statutes pertaining to residential, commercial, industrial, and open space development. • Assist in the preparation and/or review of informational hand-outs for the public. • Analyze development plans and communicate any required corrections to the customer. • Project management; requires an ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work efficiently • Commercial, industrial, and residential plan check review of preliminary and final landscaping plans for conformance with City Standards and requirements through final approval. • Ensure landscape and irrigation plan compliance with the City’s “Handbook of Water Efficiency Landscape Measures.” • May be asked for a construction cost estimate review and approval for developer bonding requirements. • Landscape construction inspection services to insure installation is in conformance with approved plans and specifications with processing per City Requirements. • May be required to attend meetings design review, interim reviews of construction drawings, and planning commission. • Landscape architectural resource for responding to staff general questions or questions regarding specific projects. • As a preferred vendor, you may be asked by the developer or property owner to provide any or all of the following: Landscape and site planning, design of landscape planting plans, hardscape design, graphic design, feasibility study, and compliance with City of Westminster Codes and standards.
