Specifications include, but are not limited to: 3.1. SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE PAVING MACHINES 3.1.1. The machine must be capable of filling trenches varying in depth from 2” to 6” and widths varying from 4’ to 16’. The machine shall also be capable of width increases at 2’ foot intervals beyond 4’ feet. Width variations may be accommodated by built-in gate structures or removable cutoff plates. 3.1.2. The machine must maintain a consistent spread grade while operating in an off-level environment (i.e., one side of the machine in the trench and the other sidetracking on the existing pavement level). 3.1.3. The machine must be capable of direct feeding from standard 10-wheel dump trucks or equivalent while operating in an off-level environment (i.e., one side of the machine in the trench and the other sidetracking on the existing pavement level). 3.1.4. The machine is to be accompanied by one operator and two screed persons. Labor costs will be included in the hourly rental rate. 3.1.5. The Contractor shall fully maintain and fuel the machine. 3.2. MOVE IN AND MOVE OUT Move-in/move-out shall be bid on per occurrence, portal to portal, with travel time not exceeding 2 hours per move. Paid moves are defined as only those directly related to County job site relocation needs, with only one move charge between job sites.
