Project Overview The purpose of this project to identify an artist or artist team to provide the following as part of the Safe Streets and Roads for All FY22 – Florence Firestone Project (SS4A Project) to support the implementation of the Vision Zero Action Plan in the unincorporated County community of Florence-Firestone: • Arts-based, healing-informed community engagement that raises awareness of and builds support for traffic safety generally and for Vision Zero activities in FlorenceFirestone, particularly where the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works (Public Works) will be implementing infrastructure improvements for Vision Zero and the SS4A Project and where the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health) will be implementing its Safe Streets for Seniors Project; and • Community-engaged temporary and/or permanent artworks as site interventions to enhance pedestrian safety, visibility, cultural equity, beautification, and spatial justice either in coordination with or in complement to infrastructure improvements and educational programming.
