The objective of the Project is to produce video recordings featuring Cambodian American families that document personal narratives about their mental health experiences, the impact of various stressors, and culturally grounded recovery strategies. The Project will be implemented in two phases: (1) the development of culturally sensitive interview questions and the oral history recordings of 6–8 Cambodian American families, and (2) the presentation of these recordings at a minimum of three community showcase events, each lasting at least two hours and reaching a combined audience of at least 250 participants. To broaden the Project’s reach, the recordings may also be shared via social media. Additionally, an API-specific mental health resource list will be created and distributed to increase awareness and accessibility of culturally appropriate mental health services within the Cambodian American community. A Vendor will be contracted to carry out the Project which will aim to accomplish the following: 1. Plan and Conduct Oral History Interviews a. Develop culturally responsive interview questions in collaboration with mental health professionals and community leaders. b. Identify and schedule interviews with 6–8 Cambodian American families, and video record their personal narratives focusing on mental health experiences, the impact of stressors, and culturally grounded recovery practices. 2. Host Community Showcase Events a. Organize a minimum of three community events to present the recorded oral histories. Each event will last at least two hours and will include facilitated discussions to increase engagement and awareness. b. Events may be held in-person, virtually, or in hybrid format and will collectively reach a minimum of 250 participants. 3. Compile and distribute an API-specific mental health resource list to event participants and share widely through social media platforms, with the goal of improving access to mental health support within Cambodian American communities.
