1. Chemical Application o Apply herbicides for roadside vegetation control. o Ensure proper handling, storage, and application of all chemicals in compliance with the California Department of Pesticide Regulation (DPR) and Mariposa County Department of Agriculture requirements. o Application methods may include truck-mounted spray rigs, ATV sprayers, or backpack sprayers as appropriate. All Applicators shall be required to be inspected by the County. 2. Treatment Areas o County-maintained roadways will be designated by the Public Works Department. Locations will be provided to the Awarded Contractor. o Contractor shall work with the County Road Superintendent or designee to develop a treatment schedule and maps prior to application. 3. Traffic Control o Provide and maintain all necessary traffic control per the California Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (CA MUTCD), Contractor needs to cite Caltrans Traffic Control Device Code as well. o Contractor shall provide Traffic Control Plan with proposed signage plans. 4. Environmental & Safety Compliance o Contractor is responsible to ensure application does not impact pastureland, waterways, wells, or protected habitats. o Use only licensed applicators certified by the State of California. 5. Reporting & Documentation o Maintain daily logs of chemical type, quantity used, application location, weather conditions, and operator(s). o Provide monthly reports to the County. o Provide weekly schedule prior to application of chemicals. o Submit a final end-of-season report summarizing activities and outcomes.
