Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this Request for Proposal is to solicit proposals from qualified firms to providetechnical support and project management for SMUD s Regional Water & Energy Assessmentand Savings Demonstration program. SMUD anticipates awarding one contract as a result ofthis solicitation with an aggregate value of approximately $125,000. Contract duration will betwo years from the date of award, although the program is expected to conclude by June 2014.This program will be completed in two phases. The first phase will be a resource assessment thatwill calculate the energy intensity of the regional water system and evaluate the potential forregional water system conservation, efficiency improvements, operational improvements andrenewable generation. Based primarily on the outcome of the resource assessment, the secondphase of the program will conduct a hydrokinetic power demonstration of in-conduit and/or in-stream technologies and/or will provide match funding to local water agencies for pilot projectsto evaluate potential greenhouse gas emissions reductions through energy efficiencyimprovements or operational modifications.
