Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Aberdeen and Inverness Western Frontage General hardscape and landscape improvements/restoration including pedestrian ways, lighting and contemporary low maintenance and climate appropriate plant selections. Additional study of the horseshoe and lawn areas adjacent to the horseshoe should include potential for short-term parking. The enclosed bicycle storage that occurs in the patio/vestibules at wings A&C will be removed and the area restored as use areas attached and accessible to interior programmed space. 2. Aberdeen and Inverness Northern Aspect General hardscape and landscape improvements including pedestrian ways, lighting, and contemporary low maintenance and climate appropriate plant selections. 3. East Aberdeen Site Improvements Drawing on the new landscape that is part of the Dundee-Glasgow development. Enhance the existing pockets between buildings to address view corridors and integrate with the new development while maintaining a separate identity appropriate to A&I. The scope will include hardscape and landscape improvements, incorporating outdoor space use opportunities that include shade, seating, lighting and signage elements. The pedestrian flow into the building should be understood and pedestrian access improved where appropriate. Generally, provide hardscape and landscape improvements using contemporary low maintenance and climate appropriate plant selections. 4. New Aberdeen & Inverness South Pedestrian Mall Designed to support the projected campus expansion of Dundee - Glasgow the A&I South Mall will include a wide pedestrian promenade and separated bike lane to serve the campus population in buildings to the east. Improvements including seating, shade, lighting and signage elements The mall will also include incorporation of access controls to prevent private vehicle access. Further improvements would include creating a resident entrance to the A&I complex at the E-Wing that exits out to this mall. As the bicycle storage at the A&I storage is to be eliminated, opportunities for storage at this area should be studied and included.
