99th Street Elementary School is looking to provide garden-based education to grades PreKindergarten to 6th grade. The garden class aims to provide an engaging and interactive learning experience for students by introducing them to the world of gardening and environmental stewardship. Through these classes, students will have the opportunity to explore and develop a deeper understanding of plants, nature, and sustainable practices. By actively participating in gardening activities, students will enhance their scientific knowledge, critical thinking skills, and appreciation for the natural world. The garden class will create a vibrant learning environment where students can apply classroom concepts to real-life scenarios. They will learn about the various stages of plant growth, the importance of soil health, water conservation, and the impact of gardening on local ecosystems. By actively tending to the garden, students will develop practical skills, such as planting, weeding, mulching, and harvesting, while fostering a sense of responsibility and teamwork.
