• Power and Mode Indication: The LCD screens shall correctly identify the current mode of operation and selected output power at all times. • Mode Control: The system shall not change modes of operation on its own and only as the result of a direct command from the user. • Activation Control: The System shall not start or interrupt activation of the radiofrequency output on its own and not as the result of a direct command from the user. • Flow Control: The system shall maintain accurate control of argon gas flow at all times. In order to confirm that the device is performing correctly, preventative maintenance should be performed by qualified service personnel( manufacturer-certified and qualified biomedical technicians ) at least every 12 months. This inspection should include checks for: • Damage to the power cord. • Damage to the power plug. • Tightness of the power plug. • Proper mating, cleanliness and absence of damage to the patient connectors. • Obvious external or internal damage to the ESU.
