DHS is looking to upgrade their current Spok Messenger system version 5.17.14, which reached EOL (End Of Life) in December 2024. This project will refresh the IT infrastructure and extend the service life of the Messenger application. The system upgrade requires new servers with upgraded operating systems. Spok will work with DHS to implement an in-parallel solution for full validation alongside the current production system. Installing the upgraded software on new servers will prevent disruption to production systems and will permit both Spok and DHS to fully test and validate the solution prior to implementation. The upgrade includes the following interfaces: • Input systems: o One Simplex Grinnell Nurse Call system interfaced via Digi Port adapter o One Teletracking input supporting LAC & USC sites • Output systems: o Two Spectralink Wireless Telephone interfaces (One each OAI & WEB) o Two Cisco Wireless Telephone o One Wide Area Page connection (WCTP to Spok Wireless) The system also supports Windows Authentication, Windows Failover Cluster configuration and a system Reporting feature. This project will be completed with remote professional services; No training included.
