develop a comprehensive five-year strategic plan for the Chico Police Department. The Chico Police Department has assigned 191 total employees (109 sworn, 82 professional staff). It is a traditional full-service law enforcement agency with two major divisions: the Operations Division and the Support Division. The Police Department operates a Communications Center that serves as a Public Safety Answering Point and dispatches for the Police Department and the Fire Department. The Chico Police Department also oversees the Chico Animal Shelter. The Police Department’s goal is to develop a Strategic Plan that aligns policy priorities with public resources and includes measurable outcomes to track success. The Strategic Plan is envisioned to set a course of action for the next five years by establishing priorities, outlining actions to effectively achieve objectives, and setting a framework for reporting progress to the Council, City Manager, and the community.
