The objective of the project is to educate and empower 100 American Indian Alaska Native youth aged 16 to 25 within the Los Angeles County area with the tools, training, and culturally relevant support needed to navigate the transition from childhood to young adult hood while sustaining a positive connection with their cultural traditions. A Vendor will be contracted to carry out the Project which will aim to accomplish the following: 1. Provide financial literacy educational information and resources focusing on scholarship opportunities, financial assistance obtainment, stocks, etc. 2. Provide educational mentorship from lived experiences of the community to share success stories 3. Deliver information that is culturally inclusive, that provides education on navigating higher education 4. Lead life skills activities which incorporate traditional beliefs and practices within the tribal communities 5. Conduct life skills activities such as baking, home budgeting, digital/online hygiene, applying for a job, etc. 6. Focus on mental Health awareness and challenges that are specific to AI/AN youth, especially youth in the foster care system. 7. Compile and disseminate an AIAN-specific Mental Health Resource List and promote increased cultural competence among community members and providers through shared knowledge and experiences.
