The objective of the Expanding Mental Wellness for the Blind and Visually Impaired through Art Expression Project is to facilitate a 16-session initiative divided into two cohorts: eight sessions for English-speaking blind and visually impaired participants and eight sessions for blind and visually impaired Latino participants whose primary language is Spanish. The target population includes blind or visually impaired individuals, ages 16 and older. The Project will result in increased mental health awareness and peer support within the blind and visually impaired community, reduced stigma and increased comfort discussing emotional wellness, and empowerment through creative expression and storytelling. A Vendor will be contracted to carry out the Project which will aim to accomplish the following: 1. Deliver 16 art expression sessions in a safe, welcoming space 2. Integrate psychoeducational mental wellness discussions into each session 3. Engage participants in creating personal artwork reflecting their mental health journey 4. Host a culminating event to celebrate and share participants' work with their communities 5. Compile and disseminate a Mental Health Resource List specific to the community served by the Access for All UsCC and promote increased cultural competence among community members and providers through shared knowledge and experiences. The Vendor will meet with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health (LACDMH) from planning through implementation of the Project to ensure that all content aligns with current Department branding and messaging guidelines. LACDMH reserves the right to review and ensure that all aspects of the Project are carried out in accordance with its advertising and branding standards. Final project materials must be submitted to LACDMH for review and approval. LACDMH retains the right to request edits and/or provide recommendations, and the Vendor is required to incorporate and accommodate all such feedback.
