Specifications include, but are not limited to: A Consultant with a clinical background specializing in providing mental health services, reentry coaching, and mentorship to formerly incarcerated and justice-involved Black adults will be contracted. The Consultant will be responsible for implementing the My Brothers’ Keeper Training and Mentoring Academy, aimed at accomplishing the following three objectives: 1. Recruit, train, and mentor 15-20 Black adults who were previously incarcerated to become Community Facilitators (CFs) through the My Brothers' Keeper Training and Mentoring Academy. Once the formerly incarcerated Black adults graduate from the My Brothers’ Keeper Training and Mentoring Academy, they will become CFs. 2. Each CF will be responsible for facilitating Peer-to-Peer community presentations targeting formerly incarcerated Black adults. The presentations will create a space for conversations and sharing among participants. The community presents will include the following topics: a. History of trauma and how it impacts our physical and emotional health. b. Signs and symptoms of common mental health conditions. c. How to seek employment and/or vocational opportunities. d. Financial Empowerment. e. Healthy interpersonal and family relationships f. How to access mental health resources and services. The Consultant will meet progressively with LACDMH from planning through implementation of the project to ensure that content development aligns with current Department branding efforts. The Department reserves the right to ensure that Consultant implements the project in a manner that complies with DMH advertising/branding principals. Once the content and any other materials have been completed, LACDMH must approve the final products. LACDMH holds the right to provide edits and/or recommendations and the Consultant must adhere to this and accommodate suggested changes.
