This class is intended to instruct Public Works employees on appropriate procedures for Cal/OSHA Construction Safety. This training course will include, but no limited to the following: • Mandatory — 7 hours o Introduction to OSHA o OSHA Focus Four Hazards o Personal Protective and Life Saving Equipment o Health Hazards in Construction o Fall Protection o Electrical Safety o__Struck_by_&_Caught_Between_Hazards Elective- 2 hours. Must present at least 2 hours of training on the following topics. At least 2 of the following topics must be presented. The minimum length of any topic is one-half hours. o Cranes, Derricks, Hoists, Elevators and Conveyors o Excavations o Materials Handling, Storage, Use and Disposal o Scaffolds o Stairways and Ladders o Tools — Hand and Power o Ergonomics o Silica Awareness • Optional — 1 hour. Teach other construction industry hazards or policies or expand the mandatory or elective topics. The minimum length of any topic is one- half hour.
