The project is called the Equipping of Municipal Water Well 50. The project is located at the existing Well 1 site down an alley way south of West Pine Avenue, west of North D Street, north of West San Joaquin Avenue given a new address of 629 West Pine Avenue, Tulare, CA 93274. The existing potable water production Well 1 will be replaced with a new Well 50.The work to be completed by the City and Others prior to the start of this project includesthe abandonment of Well 1, drilling and pump testing of Well 50, and limited site demolitionand cleanup. Phase 1 of the work to be completed as part of this project is the Well 50equipping work, onsite improvements, and offsite improvements. This work includes anyremaining demolition, off-haul, and disposal of debris or loose soils, subgrade preparation,grading, paving, site concrete, security fence, equipping the new Well 50 with a 1,300 gpm,250 HP pump, prefabricated pump enclosure, mechanical piping, valves, controls andinstrumentation, sodium hypochlorite disinfection chemical injection and storage facility witheyewash & shower and shade structure, electrical service, CMU electrical building withHVAC, switch board, motor control center, pump VFD, panel board, lighting, permanentpad-mounted emergency generator and automatic transfer switch, pad-mountedtransformer, concrete equipment pads, onsite utilities including potable water, sewer, wellflush water, power, communications, drain, and other small utilities, offsite utilities includingconnecting to 16-inch potable water in the alley, connect new 12-inch well flush to wasteline to existing storm drain manhole in North D Street, install new well flush manholes, andrepair existing asphalt roadway, concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk. Phase 2 of the work tobe completed as part of this project is the offsite work including the removal and replacement of the existing 6-inch sewer with 8-inch sewer, connecting to the existing sewer manhole and installation of new sewer manholes, replace existing sewer lateral connections, and any shut downs and bypass pumping required to maintain service, grading, concrete swale, and asphalt pavement in alley, miscellaneous concrete curb, gutter, and sidewalk, and roadway repairs to adjacent streets.
