26-827 - Elk Bayou Nature Preserve Master Plan

The goal of the project is to establish an outdoor recreation and nature preserve at the Elk Bayou by incorporating multi-use trails along both sides of the bayou along with foot bridges over the bayou to create a regional trail system that includes interpretative signage, habitat restoration, land acquisition, and redevelopment of the Elk Bayou Park. Other potential elements include kayak launch and exit points at Laspina Street and Hosfield Drive, picnic pavilions, and individual picnic tables.

An additional element the City is interested in considering is to design a high ropes or zipline adventure course throughout Elk Bayou Regional Park to be operated by a third-party vendor.
