Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. General: This specification is intended to cover a self-propelled, telescoping boom, aerial lift with track drives and a diesel engine. Machine shall have a maximum platform height of 65’ at minimum, and a minimum lift capacity of 500 pounds. Unit furnished shall comply with applicable ANSI, OSHA and SAE standards. 2. Engine: Shall have a diesel engine developing a minimum of 70 horsepower at rated RPM. Shall be equipped with electric starter, battery and alternator. Shall have approved type air cleaner, lube oil and fuel filters with replaceable elements, muffler, and fuel tank as regularly furnished by manufacturer. a. If a water cooled system is utilized, the system shall have anti-freeze protection to -20o F, or lower. b. Shall be equipped with an automatic shutdown system which senses low oil pressure or high coolant temperature. c. Shall have electric hour meter and all other necessary gauges or indicators required for full operation. d. Engine shall meet current U.S. EPA emission requirements. 3. Drive System: Machine shall have 4X4 track drive with hydraulic motors, one for each track assembly. Shall have a minimum of two speeds and be designed to operate independent of each other for steering purposes. Track system shall consist of four (4) individual track units located on each corner of machine chassis (four-point) which shall swivel vertically up to 20 degrees for travel on rough ground conditions. Unit shall be equipped with a drive system that informs the operator when drive and steer functions may be opposite controller movements. 4. Tracks: Tracks shall be steel reinforced rubber tracks regularly furnished by manufacturer. 5. Gradeability: Machine shall have a minimum stowed gradeability of 45% 6. Turntable: Turntable shall be driven by a hydraulic motor through a ring and pinion system which will allow 360o continuous rotation. Turntable shall have a maximum tail-swing of 5 feet. 7. Boom: Telescoping type, all steel construction. Horizontal reach from centerline of rotation shall be no less than 54 feet. Height from ground to bottom of work platform at full extension shall be no less than 65’. Working height shall be a minimum of 71’. Shall have below ground level reach of no less than 8 feet. Shall have a jib boom. 8. Work Platform: Platform shall be hung on jib boom and equipped with an automatic hydraulic self-leveling system. A manual hydraulic system shall be provided to override the automatic platform leveling system. Shall also be equipped with hydraulic rotator providing a minimum of 160o rotation. Platform shall be constructed of steel with nominal dimensions of 36” x 96” and have a kick plate with a minimum height of 6” to help keep equipment and tools within the platform. Shall have a mid-entry access opening. 9. Lift Capacity: Shall have platform lift capacity throughout the entire range of boom elevation of no less than 500 pounds. 10. Hydraulic System: Shall have one or more variable displacement axial piston pumps of size, type and capacity to perform all required operations of rotation, travel and boom functions, including work platform leveling and rotation. Hydraulic cylinders shall be double acting type. All circuits shall have safety relief valves to prevent overloading. Hydraulic system shall be equipped with a hydraulic oil cooler and a 10-micron minimum filtration system.
