The selected firm(s) will be responsible for the scheduled and as-needed removal of waste and recyclables from designated campus locations, in accordance with all applicable regulations and sustainability standards. A mandatory site visit is required for all prospective bidders. All containers, including spares, must be washed and deodorized quarterly with Green Seal-certified products, inside and out, at no additional cost to the University. Deodorizing must be done on-site only. F. The Selected Firm(s) shall maximize the use of Green Seal-certified products and maintain a list of all types and quantities of products used at the University. G. Trash and refuse unit trucks must be properly constructed to service containers. Truck bodies must be clean, enclosed, equipped with a compacting system, and designed to prevent spillage or fluid discharge during loading or transport. Trucks must be capable of accessing all pick-up points and navigating University roads. The Selected Firm(s) shall clean any spillage and repair any equipment-related damage at no additional cost to the University. Any observed need for repairs or cleanup must be reported to the University. Trucks must be radio or cell phone dispatched, maintained in a mechanically sound and clean condition, and removed from service if deemed unsightly. If a truck suffers an accident, breakdown, or failure while servicing the University, the Selected Firm(s) must notify a designated University representative immediately. Currently, there are 34 waste bins across campus.
