Water Softening Salt:1.General: The salt must be free from foreign material and must not impair equipment operation or cause thewater being treated to fail to meet the requirements of the U.S.E.P.A. Drinking Water Regulation. The saltmust meet or exceed the requirements of Federal specification O-S-1926 and AWWA Standard B200-07 andthe requirements stated herein. (Sieve sizes are U.S. Standard Sieve Series.). Ice Removal Compound:1.Rock Salt - This salt, to be used for ice removal must meet or exceed the requirements of ASTM Standard D-632-01, Type I, Grade 1.a.Rock Salt must contain a minimum of 95.0% Sodium Chloride.
