a. Demolition and Surface Preparation i. Perform a full chip-out of all existing plaster and interior coating materials down to a sound substrate. Partial plaster removal is not acceptable. ii. Properly dispose of all debris in accordance with applicable regulations. iii. Inspect the pool shell and repair any cracks, voids, or substrate imperfections prior to replastering. All repairs need to be approved by the Waukegan Park District first. iv. Prepare substrate per SGM BOND KOTE manufacturer’s specifications. v. Apply bonding agents per SGM BOND KOTE manufacturer specifications. vi. Protect all fittings, lights, drains, and other embedded components during preparation and plastering. b. Replastering and Finishing i. Apply new plaster finish in full compliance with SGM DIAMOND BRITE manufacturer’s recommendations and standards for commercial/public pools. ii. Finish color to be the SGM DIAMOND BRITE SUPER BLUE DECK FINISH. iii. Achieve a uniform, smooth, watertight surface across all pool areas. SGM DIAMOND BRITE thickness should be 3/8” to 1/2”. iv. Allow for proper cure time prior to filling the pool, as specified by the SGM DIAMOND BRITE manufacturer. c. Site Maintenance and Cleanup i. Contractor shall maintain a clean, safe, and orderly worksite throughout the duration of the project. ii. Remove all waste, debris, and surplus materials upon completion. iii. Restore any disturbed areas of the surrounding pool deck or facility to pre-construction conditions.
