The City of Hot Springs, Arkansas, is accepting bids for lot cleaning, boarding, and securing structures on behalf of the Planning Department. The following specifications describe the minimum requirements. The material shall be a current design production model and available to the commercial market. The City reserves the right to review the material and choose the unit deemed to be in the City's best interest. The material shall comply with all state and federal safety requirements. Any deviations to these specifications shall be explained. Lot Cleaning All sites shall be cleared of all grass, weeds, un-maintained hedges and bushes, tree limbs, small trees, brush, debris, trash, or other unsightly articles. All sites shall be cut to a height of 3" or less. All sites shall be cut and neatly trimmed along the streets, sidewalks, and outside perimeters of all structures. All cultivated flower beds and or hedges shall be trimmed and maintained. All Formosa and other new growth undesirable trees shall be removed from the property. All sites shall be cut and trimmed along all fence lines, including vegetation growing in or on a fence. Boarding and Securing Structure All structures determined by the City to be open and vacant shall be secured. Clear polycarbonate, a minimum of 3/16" thick, shall be placed over windows and doors that face directly in a public way. Polycarbonate shall be installed per instructions. All other side shall be secured with boards. These boards shall be cut to fit and painted. All materials and paint colors must be approved by the City. Boarding Specification Clear boarding is a polycarbonate board-up system which offers a very unique alternative to using plywood if a property requires boarding. Clear boarding combines the necessary strength to protect a property with transparent window covers, giving the appearance of traditional windows, and securing the property without exposing its vacancy to onlookers.
