Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. General: Four wheel drive pneumatic tired Wheel Loader of unit design engineered from the ground up for front-end loading operation. Full turn tipping load rating as defined in SAE J732 shall be no less than 17,000 pounds with cab, bucket and tires as specified below. The rated operating load shall not exceed 50% of the tipping capacity per SAE J818. 2. Engine: Rear mounted liquid cooled diesel with no less than six (6) cylinders and a minimum piston displacement of 5.9 liters. Shall develop no less than 140 net horsepower at a governed speed. Engine shall comply with current EPA standards for off-road vehicles. Shall be equipped with electric starter, battery, alternator and ammeter or charge indicator. Shall have oil pressure or fuel solenoid actuated electric hour meter (showing actual engine run time independent of engine RPM), approved dry type air cleaner, pre-cleaner, lube oil filters and fuel filters with replaceable elements, and muffler. All gauges or indicators, including temperature, oil pressure and fuel level, to be mounted in instrument panel in cab readily visible to operator from seat. Fuel tank shall have a capacity for not less than ten (10) hours of operation. Cooling system shall have anti-freeze protection to -20o F, or lower. 3. Transmission: Power shift with no less than four (4) forward speeds and three (3) reverse speeds, or variable speed hydrostatic with a minimum of two (2) speed ranges. Road speed shall be no less than 20 mph. 4. Axles: Planetary type reduction to each hub. 5. Brakes: Foot controlled, hydraulic actuated wet disc type service brakes. Parking brake as regularly furnished by manufacturer. The entire braking system shall meet current SAE J1473/ISO3450 standards. 6. Steering: Articulated frame, full hydraulic power steering. 7. Tires: 17.5 x 25 or 20.5 x 25, minimum 12 Ply Rating with L2 tread and water valve stem. (Radial ply equivalent may be provided in lieu of bias ply tires.) 8. Hydraulic System: Shall consist of reservoir with baffles, pump, control valve, lift and dump cylinders, necessary relief valves and necessary filters with replaceable elements. Control valves shall be convenient to operator. 9. Bucket: Heavy material bucket with a minimum SAE rated heaped capacity of 2.5 cubic yards. Bucket shall be at least as wide as the outside to outside measurement of the tires and be equipped with a bolt on cutting edge. Maximum dumping height with bucket at dump angle shall be no less than 9’ 0”. Raising time of bucket shall be no more than 6.5 seconds and lowering time from maximum lifting height to ground level shall be no more than 5 seconds. Bucket reach forward shall be no less than 36” at maximum dumping height with bucket at dump angle. Shall have below ground line digging capacity with bucket cutting edge in horizontal position. 10. Breakout Force: SAE J732 breakout force shall be no less than 19,900 pounds. 11. Cab: Fully enclosed pressurized ROPS cab with safety glass windshield and windows. Cab shall be equipped with air conditioning, heater-defroster unit, front and rear windshield wipers with washers, inside rear view mirror, adjustable suspension seat and seat belt.
