Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Chlorine must be 99.5% pure by volume, free of iron, and must meet the specification of American Water Works Association (AWWA) B301-92 or latest revision of standard. 2. Chlorine must be free from floating taffy and other debris, as determined by LRWRA, which tend to plug connections and passageways in feeding equipment. 3. Chlorine must meet all guidelines as established by the American Water Works Association in the AWWA Standards Manual under B300 Disinfection, Section 2 (Materials) and Section 3 (Sampling, inspection, packaging, and marking). 4. Cylinders for shipment and storage of liquid chlorine must meet requirements listed by The Chlorine Institute, Inc. 5. LRWRA shall have the right to refuse cylinder(s) if the hydrostatic testing is out of date, if a plug is leaking, or for any other reason determined by LRWRA staff. The vendor shall replace the refused cylinder(s) within five (5) business days.
