Provide Crisis Stabilization Services for individuals who are experiencing a behavioral health crisis and/or detained by law enforcement as authorized by Arkansas Act 423 of 2017. Crisis Stabilization Unit, Crisis Stabilization (a) The CSU shall provide crisis stabilization to individuals who are in crisis as a result of a mental health and/or substance use disorder-related problem. Each CSU must be specifically accessible to individuals who present with co-occurring disorders. (b) A physician shall be available at all times for the crisis unit, either on-duty or on call. If the physician is on call, he or she shall respond by telephone or in person to the licensed staff on duty at the crisis unit within twenty (20) minutes. (c) CSU services shall include, but are not limited to, the following service components: (1) Co-occurring-capable Psychiatric crisis stabilization; and (2) Co-occurring-capable drug/alcohol crisis stabilization. (d) The CSU shall provide written policies and procedures for each of the above referenced services and that shall include specific provisions for co-occurring disorders and trauma. Crisis Stabilization Unit, Triage (a) Crisis stabilization services shall include twenty-four (24) hour triage services and emergency examination. (b) An Arkansas-licensed Mental Health Professional [MHP] must be on-duty or on-call at all times. If the MHP is on call, he or she shall respond by telephone or in person to the licensed staff on duty at the crisis unit within twenty (20) minutes.
