SQUARE FOOTAGE: • Upper Roof: 6,420 sq. ft. • Lower Roof: 1,582 sq. ft • Argenta Branch Library is listed as North Little Rock Post Office on the National Register of Historic Places. Plans must be approved by the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program before implementation. • Upper Roof may require standing seam metal as a long-term historic enhancement. It originally featured copper standing seam roofing. • If shingles are replaced, verify presence and ventilation of attic space to ensure long shingle life. • Unused equipment from the lower roof should be removed. Drainage enhancements (enlarging existing scupper, lowering opening to roof level, and installing 22 gallon collector box with downspout with prefinished aluminum material to be antique bronze or similar) approved by the History Commission for the lower roof must be incorporated. • Timeline – must be completed by May 11, 2026. § Recommend to install a minimum 2-PLY hybrid roof system in the low slope areas of the roof as this system will provide multiple layers of protection with a minimum warranty of 25 years. § Regarding the shingles, it is important that a minimum 25 year architectural or high impact shingle is installed or a minimum 35 year standing seam roof. § Replace Low Slope Roofs & Shingles 2-PLY Hybrid Modified Bitumen Base Sheet w/ Fleeceback KEE Cap Sheet 1. Perform infrared scan. 2. Using results of the infrared scan, remove saturated roofing & insulation to wood deck and replace with iso fastened per wind uplift calculations. Replace decking as needed per unit cost. 3. Remove and dispose of existing coping metal and/or edge metal. Replace wood nailers as needed. Provide unit cost for replacement 4. At walls, remove existing wall flashings. 5. Remove shingles & underlayment down to wood deck. Replace decking as needed. Installing contractor to supply unit cost for deck replacement at time of bid. 6. Mechanically fasten minimum 5/8” plywood sheathing to vertical face of parapet and inside walls where flashing will be adhered. 7. Install new wood nailer on top of parapet. 8. Over existing roof using results of wind uplift calculations, mechanically fasten ½” Densdeck Prime coverboard through the existing roof and into the wood deck. 11,17,22 fastening pattern. 9. Install 4” fiberglass cant at walls, and curbs set in insulation adhesive 10. Install SBS modified 110 mil torch base ply extending over edge where needed and nailed off and extending minimum 2” above cant 11. Using spatter spray adhesive install FB KEE membrane 2” above cant. Heat weld all laps 12. Prime vertical substrates with asphalt primer and cold apply 80 mil SBS modified flashing base ply in cold flashing adhesive extending 6” onto field of roof. Extend base flashing ply up and over wall 13. Install non FB KEE membrane flashing cap with adhesive extending 9” onto field of roof and up and over wall 14. Where shingles were present, install new underlayment and architectural or high impact shingle.
