The City of Rogers is seeking qualified design firms to provide comprehensive architectural and engineering design services for a newly constructed animal shelter. This new construction is vital to improve the overall adoption experience and increase the shelter’s capacity for housing animals in a safe, humane, and welcoming environment. 2. Design Requirements The design services shall comply with the following standards: Building Codes and Laws: Designs must adhere to all State and Local Building Codes as adopted by the City of Rogers, and must fully comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) to ensure accessibility for all visitors and staff. Humane Shelter Standards: Designs should follow the guidelines and recommendations from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). Materials: The use of durable, low-maintenance, and non-toxic materials that provide a safe environment for both animals and humans is required. Building Systems: All Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC System shall be energy efficient, easily maintained, and provide a safe environment for both animals and humans. Capacity: Designs shall accommodate a minimum of 120 dogs, 25 cats, have separate entrances for drop-offs and adoptions, office spaces, adoption education room, small conference room, and other amenities required to serve the animals, patrons, and staff. The design shall allow for future expansion of the facility to accommodate additional animals.
