Specifications include, but are not limited to: 4.1. Prepare the clinic for treatment at the beginning of each shift; 4.2. Be professional at all times and practice good interpersonal skills when interacting with staff and patients; 4.3. Activate equipment, i.e., turn on compressor, suction pump, computer; 4.4. Prepare sterilization area, making necessary entries on logs as required; 4.5. Pull all dental charts for patients scheduled for the day’s appointments. If no chart exists, create a new one prior to patient being seen; 4.6. Check answering machine periodically for messages, and alert the Dentist of any requests for a patient to be seen for a dental emergency, or any other information related to patient care; 4.7. Check for receipt of prosthetic cases, and immediately schedule these patients to be seen within the week; 4.8. Communicate date of treatment for each patient seen, including refusals and no-shows, to the Specialty Clinic Scheduler. The Specialty Clinic Scheduler or other Hospital staff will note in the electronic health record (EHR) when a patient requires rescheduling, as directed by the dentist; 4.9. File all dental charts, clean and organize Clinic and office areas prior to the conclusion of each shift; 4.10. Update health history for all patients treated on the health history page of the dental record
