Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Contractor shall perform and record the following items prior to operating the unit and with the unit in its normal operating position: 1. Verify unit control switch is in “AUTO” and breaker is in its normal standby position. 2. On the inspection checklist, record pertinent unit information (location, serial#, make, start hours) 3. Check and record engine oil level and top off if necessary. Check for contamination (fuel, coolant, etc.) 4. Check and record cooling system level and top off as necessary. Test for pH level using test strip. 5. Inspect radiator cap. Check seal for wear and cracking and replace if required. 6. Inspect radiator cooling fins for restriction/debris. Clear as needed and record restrictions. 7. Inspect cooling system hoses for leaks and replace hose and or clamps if required. 8. Inspect water pump for signs of leaking at weep-hole and record results. 9. Verify proper operation of block heater (if applicable) 10. Inspect fuel system hoses for cracks, flexibility and leaks and replace if required. 11. Inspect other hoses (vacuum, air, etc) for cracks and repair or replace if required. 12. Inspect governor actuator for proper operation. 13. Inspect generator mounts/vibration isolators for damage and proper clearance. 14. Inspect exhaust system for leaks, exhaust supports are sound, and rain-cap functions properly. B. Contractor shall perform and record the following items prior to operating the unit with the unit in the OFF position, but with the unit ready to return to service immediately, if needed: 1. Inspect all drive belts for wear and cracks. 2. Inspect belt tensioner/pullies and lubricate as needed. 3. Inspect condition of air filter element. 4. Remove air filter element and inspect turbocharger intake impeller for rotation, end-play or damage. 5. Remove breaker cover and check lines/load cables for wear/damage, and breaker lug tightness.
