Specifications include, but are not limited to: A.Clean Uniform Appearance–All interior/exterior cleaning shall have a uniform, clean appearance free from dirt, cobwebs, stains, streaks, smudges, fingerprints, lint, cleaning marks, film and deposits, scuff marks, swirl marks, detergent residue, splash marks, etc. B.Outside Entrances and Steps–The exterior of building entrances (within 10 feet) shall be swept and debris removed. This includes all bench areas outside of buildings where employees or citizens take breaks. When walking from building to building, disposeof all trash, litter or other debris as needed. Porches, handicap ramps, steps, basement stairways and any other areas under cover outside the buildings shall be swept to remove all soil, litter and trash. All visible surface litter, soil, dirt, cobwebs, etc., shall be removed from the area. Waste receptacles adjacent to the entrance shall be emptied and cleaned.C.Cigarette Containers–All cigarette butts and ashes shall be extinguished and cool prior to disposal. This requirement includes receptacleslocated near building entrances and in designated smoking areas. DPS policy prohibits smoking and the use of smokeless tobacco within the confines of a DPS facility or within 50 feet of its entrance or any door allowing passage into the building (some exceptions have been approved). If sand is present in the receptacle, it must be sifted to remove any waste, ashes and debris. Sand urns will be refilled, as required, to maintain appropriate level. Sand shall be loosened and leveled. Ashtrays, sand urnsand waste/ash receptacles shall be emptied and thoroughly cleaned and disinfected, as needed.D.Entrance Mats–Clean interior and exterior floor/entrance mats. If vacuuming does not remove the soil/debris, the mat(s) shall be taken outside and swept witha stiff broom until all visible soil/debris has been removed. Entrance mats shall be lifted to remove soil and moisture underneath, and shall be returned to the normal location after cleaning. No entrance mat shall be placed upon a damp or wet floor surface. Outside entrance mats shall be picked up and shaken to remove sand and debris. Entrance mats can be power washed outside, if necessary.E.Entrance Doors–Clean building entry/lobby doors, handles, hardware and door frames on all sides.
