The University is requesting proposals from qualified firms to establish a comprehensive water treatment program for the two Central Plants. This program will encompass all central plant boiler systems, cooling towers, hot water loops, and chilled water loops. It will also include all necessary chemical products, control and feed equipment, and professional consulting services required to achieve the following: 4.1.1. Improve the make-up quality, reduce system contamination, minimize scaling, corrosion, fouling, and microbiological growth to minimize the repair and maintenance cost associated with the replacement and cleaning of equipment. 4.1.2. Water softening treatment systems for campus-wide use, including capacity for high-demand periods in residential halls and classroom buildings. 4.1.3. Regular monitoring and maintenance of water softeners to ensure optimal efficiency and consistent water quality for academic and residential facilities. 4.1.4. Minimize or eliminate safety hazards. 4.1.5. Provide professional, knowledgeable and involved service personnel to ensure program success.
