It is now time to evaluate and update the existing plan’s outcomes and effectiveness. Crash data will be collected and evaluated to identify if crashes are trending since the last plan and to find evidence-based transportation safety issues to address moving forward. Speed studies will be performed to inform the action plan. Stakeholder engagement and public outreach will be accomplished. A vision for SRPMIC transportation safety will be established. Emphasis areas will be modified as needed and new strategies, countermeasures, and projects will be identified. Strategies will include employing low cost, high impact strategies that can improve safety over a wider geographical area and to adopt innovative technologies to promote safety and equity. The new comprehensive safety action plan will include leadership commitment and goal setting, planning structure, safety analysis, engagement and collaboration, equity considerations, policy and process changes, strategy and project selections, as well as progress and transparency. A detailed scope of work will be negotiated with the selected Consultant at a cost not to exceed $250,000. The final plan shall be publicly available by July 1, 2027.
